Charaiveti, what?
Let me tell you why we named it Charaiveti
Every time I tell someone my newsletter is called Charaiveti, they always ask what it means?
Charaiveti (चरैवेति) is a Sanskrit word/phrase that means:
“Keep moving,” “Walk on,” or “Continue the journey.”
It comes from the famous line in the Upanishads:
“चरैवेति, चरैवेति” (Charaiveti, Charaiveti)
— which literally translates to
“Move on, move on.”
And it has a deeper meaning than moving on. It means:
> Keep evolving
> Don’t get stuck in comfort or fear
> Progress through action, not just thought
> Growth happens by moving, not waiting
In Indian philosophy, charaiveti represents a life principle:
Stagnation = decay
Movement = life
To me, it felt like a perfect name for my newsletter.
Building Independently is a journey. And to get it right, one has to keep moving forward when bad days arrive, keep upselling when market changes and keep on rediscovering your strength as you go along.
This is why we call it Charaiveti. ✨
P.S. Keep moving forward 🏃♀️
